Clinical leader and medical advisor within a specialized research organization supporting the undersea military community. Provides medical and operational expertise as member of Executive Steering Council, advising on safety of diving, hypo/hyperbaric procedures, and equipment. Concurrently, serves as Family Nurse Practitioner, delivering primary care services and leading instruction on Basic and Advanced Life Support to military medical personnel.
Strengthened staff and study participant safety by founding a Research Safety Review Board and evaluating Institutional Review Board protocols, establishing new safeguards for non-standard equipment and high-risk research in diving and submarine environments.
Led a $65M regional military infectious disease research program spanning 10 countries, directing a team of 16 U.S. and 250 Peruvian scientists across multiple directorates.
